The CHPM2030 project is on the right tracks, and it is going fast! The H2020 project working on decreasing Europe’s dependency on the import of strategic metallic minerals and energy by coupling the production of geothermal energy and metals is indeed making huge progress!
Recently, laboratory investigations have been carried out on metal content mobilisation using mild leaching techniques. Laboratory experiments are also made on the recovery of the metal content and investigations on salinity gradient power started this month.
Such progresses are highly promising, but only fully accomplished when shared and reviewed by the community of scientists across Europe. This is why the CHPM2030 is inviting everyone to take part in the Workshop on “Geochemistry of Geothermal Fluids” that will bring together the running geothermal projects funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission and, hopefully provide a glimpse to the geochemical aspects of geothermal fluids while facilitating synergies between the projects.
Find more information about the Workshop organized at the Univesity of Miskolc, in Hungary, on 26 and 27 October 2017 in our latest newsletter and don’t forget to subscribe to it to keep up with the project! You can also find more information about the project and its four recent reports here.
